The SSG 04 A1 replaces the standard Picatinny rail with a shroud that isattached to the receiver and covers the barrel for the length of theforend. The shroud is topped with a full-length Picatinny rail, and twoshort rail segments are attached on the side of the shroud for mountingof accessories such as lights or lasers.
